Hello everyone, Giovanna here! In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make paper cloth. Starting with white tissue paper, you can create a new material that is both sturdy and pliable at the same time. This material can be stitched, cut, and even die-cut to make wearable pieces like bracelets, earrings, brooches, and pendants.
With the help of your Gelli® plate you can create handmade jewelry with your own style! Colourful, bold, romantic or vintage- options are endless! Let’s play together! 🙂

When you’re happy with the gel-printed tissue paper, prepare a mixture of PVA glue and water until it’s runny. Then you have two options: you can tear it into pieces and create a collage on white cotton, or adhere the whole sheet to the fabric for a different look.
If you have a soft spot for bling, you can use metallic paints and a bit of gold foil.

Did you iron the fabric at the end?
No iron at the end! The gentle brushing of PVA glue makes everything smooth. If you like texture a bit of wrinkles from the tissue paper add great texture to the final result. 🙂
Does this project use wet strength tissue paper? Would deli paper or coffee filters also work?
Yes! Any strength tissue paper works. You can definitely try deli paper or coffee filters also. 🙂
