Hi there! It’s Marsha here today with an idea for your seasonal cards!
This gel printing technique is adaptable to any holiday or festive occasion. So whether you still need some holiday cards or thank you cards, you can easily change the color palette, words or images to accommodate your needs!

Watch me create these shiny, festive cards in this video:
In the video, you see me gel print on patterned scrapbook paper.

I selected primarily yellow tones because they are a good base for the transparent metallic gold paint I chose. I kept printing on the same sheets until I was satisfied with the coverage.

Once the paper was dry, I cut it to approximately 4.7″ x 5.7″ cards.

I used liquid masking film to cover parts of the gold prints with words and drawings. There’s no need to overthink this. Marks or even just splatter creates an interesting layered effect!
I love to use a rubber tip shaper with my liquid masking film because it’s super easy to clean, but you can use an old brush (that you do not mind ruining) instead.

The masking film needs to dry completely before proceeding. You can remove the masking film once your layered botanical prints are finished.

I adhered my prints onto folded note cards that were slightly larger than the prints.

Happy December!
Marsha.
