Gelli Arts® + Grafix® : Craft Buttons by Helen O’Hara

Helen here with a fun project to make some Craft Button Embellishments with Gelli Arts® and Grafix®

These are great for all your
cards, scrapbooks and other crafts.

I’ve used
the mini plates to lay down some blocks of colour onto the Shrink Film for the
background.

Once the
blocks of colour were dry, I added another layer of colour and pattern on top. I
used stencils, a pool cover scrap, a rubber mat and some cotton tips to make
the textures. Once these were dry I added some more fine detail with Posca
paint pens.

Once the
paint was dry, I cut the buttons out, punched some holes in the centre and then
laid them on a baking sheet between 2 pieces of baking paper. Follow the
instructions on the Shrink Film packet. They only take about 2 minutes to
shrink down to button size.

You’ll need some Grafix® Shrink Film, Your Gelli® Plates, acrylics and paint pens.

You could
stick or sew these buttons on to paper or fabric craft projects, I don’t think
they will stand up to washing though so probably best to use for craft rather
than garments.
