Hello,
Giovanna here! For this special week dedicated to the collaboration between
Gelli Arts® and Grafix, I revamped a plastic round biscuit box with the wonderful
Dural-lar® matte film.
This material holds any kind of wet medium, such as acrylic paint, watercolour, alcohol
ink and so on; so it’s a good alternative to paper to gel print on. You can
use this box to keep buttons, lace, paper flowers or gel print leftovers.
Enjoy the
video J
Tutorial:
-Roll out
small blobs of acrylic paint on the plate
-Add
texture with texture plates
-Pull a
print with Grafix Dura-lar® film- smoothing with an old credit card to prevent any
air bubbles
-Add
details with gold acrylic paint and stencils
-Cut the
film to size to fit the round box and adhere the gel printed film to the box
with a proper glue (I used Glossy Accents by Ranger)
With the
film leftovers I cut out some cute mini embellishments:
Materials:
-Gelli Arts®
x Jane Davenport 8×10” gel printing
plate
-Grafix Dura-lar® Matte 9×12” film
-DecoArt Americana
Premium acrylic paint
-Texture plates
-‘ShineYour Light’ stencils

wonderful inspiration Gio, I have some duralar and have some ideas on how to use it 🙂
Interesting. I've not come across Dura-lar but I can see how it could be used creatively xx
