“How can I use my gel prints???”
This is the question we get asked most often by our followers and we’ve got the answer for you! Did you know that every month, Giovanna shares a new way to put that wonderful stash of gel prints to use? After all, sometimes it’s just too hard to stop gel printing!
We’ve compiled some of the most popular and well-loved Use Your Prints reels, featuring a variety of projects from start to finish. You’ll find ideas like interactive cards, journal or planner pages, adorable mini pin cushions, and practical gift card holders. With endless possibilities, there’s truly no such thing as too many prints.
#1 Cards!
Let’s begin with an interactive card perfect for upcoming Valentine’s Day:
In this process reel, Giovanna uses the Gelli Arts ‘Script’ stencil to embellish the print.
TIP: when using different prints such as in a collage, the use of stencils give a consistent look to your artwork.
#2: Gift Card Holder
Gift it or store your cards!
#3: Journal Page
In this reel, Giovanna use the exclusive 4″ x 6″ Gelli Arts® Printing Plate from the Perfect Border Kit that includes also a Mini Placement Tool with a 0.5″ border for perfect alignment every time!
TIP: mounting the smaller gel plate on a piece of clear plastic or acrylic block allow to use the plate as a stamp and have full control where you are printing
#4: Pin Cushions
A set of soft and colourful pin cushions that can also be filled with dried lavender flowers or to make unique key rings!
TIP: You can use acrylic paint on fabric with your gel printing plate and they hold a gentle wash. Otherwise you can use fabric paint or add a fabric medium while printing.
#5: Altered Art
Last but not least…
Using both gel printed fabric and paper, you can revamp any kind of object such as tin can and make a set of pen holder out of them!
