Hello everyone, Giovanna here today. Lately I am very into fabric and slow stitching. I love to gel print on fabric! You get such beautiful and unique patterns (like my infamous sleeve protectors that are gel printed, of course). For this project, I used the GelliArts® Assorted Mini Plate Class Pack. This includes 24 shaped mini plates, stencils, 24 bubble wrap bags, a comb and punchinella: all you need to make beautiful gel prints on paper or fabric with students in a class!
Gel printed fabric can be used to make a quilt or a small sewed project such as a drawstring pouch like I did in this tutorial. When I finished printing with the fabric, I thought, “what about trying with some image transfer on fabric?” So, I experimented a bit with acrylic paint, fabric medium and fabric paint. Well, it turns out I am pretty happy with what I got. If you are curious, it’s all in the video! Have fun 😊

Tip: It is better to iron the fabric before and after gel print to set the colors. Regular acrylic paint fades a bit when washing. Instead, you can usefabric paint or add a fabric medium, following the instructions on how to set the paint.
