Hi everyone!
It’s Mansi again with a new tutorial on how to use Grafix opaque white craft plastic with the Gelli Arts gel plate to create some beautiful, functional accessories.
We all need something fun to brighten up our days as we shelter in place and I promise you these gorgeous hair and fashion accessories will do just that!
So, have a look at this process video and follow along the simple, repetitive steps to create your own, unique, durable fashion accessories while at the same time creating some really cool stencils for reuse.
I used the Opaque White Craft Plastic .010” film which can be used with a wide range of mediums and techniques, including acrylics and alcohol inks, both of which I used in my process video. Because this craft plastic cuts easily, it can also be used with a die cut machine to make your own stencils.
Once happy with my monoprint design, I cut the 12×12 craft plastic into four squares that I then used with the Spellbinders flower die. This resulted in a cool stencil that I’ll be using in future Gelli Arts® projects.
I stacked the patterned flower petals with super glue and then stuck them to a hair clip base to make some really cute barrettes. I also used another stack to create a fire brooch that could be used on hats, caps, scarves, coats and bags.
An easy project with a durable substrate that will give years of joy to you or the lucky people you gift these beauties to!
Have fun creating!
-Mansi

Beautiful project! 😍
I'm amazed by the creativity of the Gelli Arts design team. Well done, Mansi!
I like how you used the craft plastic for something fun and dimensional. This project uses the potential of material the best so far. Thanks.
