Hi there and welcome to the Gelli Arts® blog!
I hope you are all safe and healthy!
Today I have a fun and easy technique for you, so if you’re at home and bored, then get out your gel printing gear and start playing ☺
In this video, I will show you how to create a gel medium resist print in a few simple steps:
1. Apply gel medium to the Gelli® plate the same way you would apply a layer of acrylic paint.
2. Place a stencil or mask on top and pull a print.
3. Let the gel medium dry or use a heat tool to speed it up.
4. Use a blending tool and non permanent stamping ink to apply color to the print.
5. Use a wet wipe to remove color from the gel medium areas.
You can do this on white paper or color your paper first to add extra color. The resisting gel medium areas will have the color of your background paper. I recommend using a permanent ink to color your paper so it doesn’t reactivate when you apply other colors on top.
Thank you so much for watching!
Happy printing!
-Birgit
