Clear Tape Transfer with Gelli Arts® by Birgit Koopsen

In my video today, I’m adding a couple of products on the plate. Instead of just using acrylic paint, I’m also adding permanent stamping ink and paint markers. 

I’m using Stazon because I like how fast it dries, but you can use any permanent (dye or solvent) ink as long as you give it time to dry. For the Posca markers you can use any acrylic paint marker that you have available. 

When you build up layers on the plate and then pull a print, your first layer will be the top layer of your print. In this case, when using clear tape, it’s different. What you see is what you get!  

After pulling the paint from the plate you can apply it to paper. You need some glue or matte medium to do so as the parts where the paint is will not be sticky anymore. You can apply the tape to white paper but also to book paper, music paper or patterned paper. In that case, it is a good idea to leave certain areas on the gel plate uncovered so you can see the paper underneath shine through. 

You can use the tape like washi tape on your cards, scrapbook pages or in your art journal.

  

If you don’t like the shine of the tape, just add some matte medium on top to reduce it.
