Hi there! It’s Marsha here. Today, I’m sharing my top tips for when you want to print seamlessly on a surface that’s larger than your Gelli Arts® gel printing plate!I love to print a patchwork type pattern on any substrate that doesn’t match the size of my gel printing plate, but sometimes you just want to be able to print one design without apparent lines.
Watch the video to see how I go about disguising these seams:
In the video, you can see me prep my canvas board before I start printing. That’s because I prefer the surface I print on to be as smooth as possible.
Canvas has a texture, and in this case, I used collage to smooth most of it down. You can also use layers of gesso or paint to fill the crevices in the canvas.
I can’t wait to hear what your favourite method is to match up two gel prints. Please share it with us on Instagram using #gelliarts and #gelliartsinspiration !
