Hello fellow Gelli Arts® enthusiasts! Kirsten Varga here!
I am super excited to share in the creativity and inspiration of my fellow Gelli Arts® Artists. I was inspired by the Gelli Arts® September theme, #GelliFallFever to create a wreath and I hope it gives you an idea of what to create with all your wonderfully layered and patterned gel prints.
Make sure to check out the giveaway at the end of my blog!
First, you need to create a variety of luscious printed papers. I set up a table and had a marathon monoprinting session using a Gelli Arts® 9″x12″ plate and Gelli Arts® Premium Acrylic Paints.
For texture, I used a variety of fibers, handmade foam stamps, found objects and Artistcellar stencils.
I kept it loose
and just had fun as I went from color to color and texture to texture to create
layers and layers. In the end I had a stack of lovely printed papers from which
I chose a few to use for my wreath.
Next, I gathered my willow wreath base and my glue gun. I also cut leaf shapes from my chosen papers. I ended up cutting up two full sheets into my leaf shapes. So. Many. Leaves!!
Lastly, it is time to assemble! To start, I glued five small groups of leaves evenly spaced around the wreath. This gives me a balanced start.
The last step is to just keep
going around and around placing the leaves until you reach the level of
fullness you are looking for.
I found it handy to have a skewer
near by to help set the leaves into the nooks and crannies of the wreath and
not burn my fingers.
Your wreath is now ready to be displayed!
Happy Creating!
Kirsten

What a fun project!
Really cute. Great idea.
Will this work with graoevine wreath?
I am sure it would since grapevine wreaths are structured similarly to the kind I used. It's worth a try!
Great idea! I do love a wreath project!
So wonderful and colorful. I like how the colors you used aren't traditional fall orange or brown. Has more punch. Thanks
Love having videos, but they were a bit too fast! Lovely project.
Haha, I agree! I am still learning when it comes to creating video tutorials. I am looking forward to making each one better than the one before it.
I love autumn and this wreath is a great way to welcome autumn into your home xxx
♥️ this wreath! Your leaves would also be perfect on an arrangement of bare branches.
Your pretty cut out leaves from your Gelli prints makes me wonder what other shape would work for a wreath…perhaps hearts for Valentine's Day
EXTRA / THANKS
Beautiful wreath! I want to make one of these!
This is awesome!…and I am not a "wreath lover". I plan on making one of these for my daughter's dorm door. She's a fine art major..she'll love it! Thanks so much for sharing.
Charming wreath – looks like fun to make!
This is beautiful! How long did it take to make?
Not long. If you already have some printed papers ready to go I am sure you could finish this project in an afternoon. It all depends on how much you arrange and rearrange the leaves, which I caught myself doing over and over. Finally I just told myself to commit and glue them down!!
I can't tell you how much I enjoy my Gelli plate. I look forward to every video you put out!
Such a wonderful wreath, love this idea! thank you : )

Great idea for fall and a wonderful way to use up gelli prints!!
A nice fresh take on a wreath. I like it.
Adore this project … can't wait to try something like that with my gelli arts prints
Love it. I needed ideas to decorate my new craft room. This will work perfectly.
I just started doing gelli prints. Its addictive!!!
This is as wonderful project and i think would be awesome to make in our kids after school classes.
I'm thinking that using rolled paper tubes, one stuck into the next to make a long story, then twisted around & around, could make a faux wreath. It won't necessarily be as stiff as Willow, but could be a fun alternative.
LOVE leaves….LOVE color…LOVE this wreath! Thank you! Enjoyed this…except for the warped speed….LOL
