Hi there! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner – are you still looking for Valentine’s to create with the kids? Look no further, because Iāve got a fun and easy idea for you!
Step 1:
Create a couple of heart shaped masks using a hot glue gun.
Draw the hearts onto a sheet of non-stick baking paper, making sure that all glue lines are connected.
Layer another sheet of baking paper on top of the hot glue and flatten the glue with a heavy, heat-proof object (I used a baking dish).
Make sure the hot glue has cooled off before you remove the mask from the baking paper.
Step 2:
Choose a light paint color and GelliĀ® print a bunch of backgrounds.
Print as many papers as you need Valentine’s cards.
Step 3:
Choose one or two darker shades of paint.
Brayer the paint onto the GelliĀ® Plate, place a heart mask on top and pull a print with one of the light colored backgrounds.
Leave the mask on and pull another print with another background.
Lift the mask and stamp it off onto yet another background. Burnish well using the brayer.
Last but not least, pull another print with the paint leftover on the GelliĀ® Plate.
If you like, you can hand cut a heart shaped mask slightly larger than the hot glue mask you just used.
Brayer paint onto the GelliĀ® Plate. Use reposition-able adhesive to adhere the paper heart over the heart on one of your prints and pull a print.
Step 4:
Trim the printed papers and adhere them to double notecards.
Happy Valentineās Day!
– Marsha

Thanks for such great ideas that are simple to execute but are really complex looking and amazingly different.
I love Gelli printing soooooo much!
This is such a cool idea! I am thinking that my 4 year old granddaughter would have fun doing this to make cards for her classmates! Thanks for the inspiration!
