We know that many of you love Gelli® printing as a family activity
— making art together. It’s always exciting to hear about the special FUN time
you share, printing with kids, grandchildren, family members and friends of all
ages. And to help facilitate those happy times, we’ve put together the
convenient kit you’ve been asking for!

The Student Kit contains a 5˝x5˝ Student Gelli plate, a
brayer, and 2 geometric patterned stencils — designed to kickstart the joy of
monoprinting! Just add your favorite acrylic paint and some copy paper and
you’re good to go! Here’s what’s in the box:

For all of you moms, dads, grandparents and relatives who have
been sharing your Gelli plates with the kids — this Gelli® Kit is the perfect
gift! A Gelli plate, brayer and stencils of their own! And we know that Gelli
printing instills creative confidence in budding artists.

What makes monoprinting with kids so special is that it’s so easy
to do. And easy to clean up. But the big reveal — when the print is
pulled —  is a magical moment!  Always a thrill!

Creating designs in wet paint on a gel plate has endless
possibilities. Gelli printing provides great opportunities for discovering how
colors work together and exploring mark-making.

The process invites a curious and open mind. Just look around —
textures are everywhere!

Some favorites are bubble wrap, jar lids of various sizes

Small toy trucks with textured wheel treads — as seen through the
eyes of a Gelli printer — become perfect patterned rollers! So take them for a
test drive!

There’s something so playful about the Gelli Student plate —
you’ll start seeing the printing possibilities in all sorts of small toys! Just
be sure to wash them off before the paint dries 🙂

Who doesn’t love printing from nature! Leaves are a favorite —
their detailed and delicate textures make the most beautiful ghost prints. And
the shapes create dynamic masks. Nature provides some of the most exciting found
materials for printmaking!

When printing items with fine details, like leaves and feathers —
place them vein-side down into the paint for the best prints. That’s where the
texture is more prominent. You can pull an almost photographic ghost print!

Also, you’ll find that thinner paper is easier to ‘feel’ around
the edges of leaves on the first ‘mask’ prints. That’s when you get the solid
shape. Pulling that first print on an existing print or interesting paper
always looks great. And layering a print with masked leaf shapes creates the
most wonderful abstract quality.

There really are no mistakes! Have a print that isn’t quite there
yet? Print another layer right over it! Or add doodles, or collage. Or cut it
up and use the snippets in various papercrafting projects! Endless uses!

If you like manipulating images in photo-editing software —
nature prints make wonderful subjects! Here are a few prints I Photoshopped to
increase the color saturation. Love those intense vibrant hues!

The paints used in the video demo are DecoArt’s Americana and
Dazzling Metallics. A little bit goes a long way! Mixing metallic colors with
matte colors adds a nice glimmery touch and can add interest to prints.

Cutting copy paper in half gives you a perfect size paper for
printing on the Student Plate! In addition to using copy paper — it’s fun to
use found papers, like old book pages, sheet music and other patterned papers.
